Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa says that citizens of a country have the sole right to stand against the selling off of resources of one’s own country.

He stated this expressing his views to the media, following a visit made to the Tangalle prison, in order to inquire into the well-being of his son, MP Namal Rajapaksa who is currently in remand custody.

Meanwhile, the Joint Opposition organized a public gathering in Tangalle today (15).

A silent protest was held in Tangalle following the public gathering demanding the release of MP Namal Rajapaksa.
