New Navy Commander Vice Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe says he will be committed to safeguarding the country from any maritime threats.
 
He expressed these views issuing a statement after assuming duties as the 22nd Commander of Sri Lanka Navy today (26).
 
He also said the naval force will be led properly in order to ensure country's sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence are protected.
