Wednesday, 17 April 2019 - 18:10

The England reserve for the upcoming 2019 World Cup one day championships, was named today (17). However, Jofra Archer who was born in the Barbados but became an English citizen and is displaying his skills at the IPL these days has not been included.

A vice-captain for the 15-member team for the World Cup under the captaincy of Eoin Morgan has not been named as yet.

The other players in the reserve include Moeen Ali, Jonny Bairstow, Jos Buttler, Tom Curran, Joe Denly, Alex Hales, Liam Plunkett, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Jason Roy, Ben Stokes, David Willey, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood.

Since the teams playing in the World Cup have to be named before 23 April, these 15 were named as the reserve but the Selection Committee points out that there is an opportunity for the two players included to play against Pakistan in a one-day series to get into the reserve.

Jofra Archer and Chris Jordan have been named in that pool.

The World Cup one day cricket tournament is due to begin on 30 May and will be centered around England and Wales.
