Former Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, the presidential candidate of the joint opposition led by the Sri Lanka Podu Jana Peramuna, paid homage to the Sri Maha Bodhi this morning.
The Hiru correspondent stated that a blessing pooja and Jaya Pirith chanting were conducted.
A large gathering including the joint opposition members were present at the occasion. After the blessing, Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and others visited the Atamassthanya for religious observances.
