The Geological Survey and Mines Bureau today stated that as a result of long-term investigations conducted, it has been revealed that there is a large gold deposit in Sri Lanka.

The Chairman of the Bureau, Asela Iddawala speaking a press conference held at the Gampaha Divisional Secretariat today stated  that the gold repository is located deep inside the soil base in the Seruwila area. 

Asela Iddawala, Chairman of the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau, stated further as follows;
