Sajith+concedes+defeat%3B+to+step+down+as+Deputy+Leader

The NDF Presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa has decided to accept defeat at the presidential election held yesterday and also step down from his UNP deputy leader post.

In a communiqué, Premadasa congratulated SLPP president elect Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.

He further noted that he accepts the decision of the public and felicitates the 7th executive president elect Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.

Meanwhile, UNP’s Harin Fernando in a Twitter message said that he was stepping down as Sports Minister and from all his positions in the UNP.
