Take crucial decision on district boundaries to prevent Covid-19’s spreading - GMOA

Saturday, 24 October 2020 - 7:15

There seems to be a spreading of the Covid-19 virus in society and thereby, a complex situation has arisen in the country, government doctors warn.

GMOA editor Dr. Haritha Aluthge told Hiru TV’s ‘Pattare Visthare’ programme the Health Ministry’s epidemiology unit has a big responsibility to shoulder in this situation.

However, the epidemiology unit is yet to provide the GMOA or other responsible party the internal information with regard to the spreading of the virus, he claimed.

Pointing out the epidemiology unit’s recent statement that all the positive cases being reported belonged to the cluster at the Brandix factory at Minuwangoda, Dr. Aluthge said nothing has been revealed as yet as to how that could be possible.

The GMOA wanted to make a special request that a crucial decision be taken with regard to district boundaries to prevent the spreading of the virus to other districts, he added.
