Gampaha - Grace period for buying essential items 
The grace period granted to the people to purchase essential items in the Gampaha District will end at 10.00pm. Despite the implementation of the curfew, the concession period commenced at 8.00 am today for the people of the Gampaha District to purchase essential items.

Banks Open
Accordingly, state and private banks in the Gampaha district were also open since this morning according to our correspondent.

Police Media spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana stated that about 20 persons were arrested today for abusing the concession granted during curfew.

Quarantine curfew to continue - in place in 64 police divisions 
Meanwhile the quarantine curfew imposed on 64 police areas of the island will continue. The curfew was announced to stop the spread of Coronavirus with the outbreak of the Minuwangoda Brandix cluster and the Peliyagoda fish market based cluster.

Colombo - Curfew in 18 police areas 
Curfew was also imposed in Fort, Pettah, Borella and Welikada areas from 6.00 pm yesterday until further notice. Therefore curfew is still in effect in 18 police areas in the Colombo District.

Long distance busses from Colombo cancelled
Meanwhile, with the curfew imposed in the Fort and Pettah police areas, all long distance SLTB and private buses operating from Colombo have been canceled from today.

Passengers can be picked and dropped
However, the National Transport Commission stated that buses arriving to Colombo can pick up and drop off passengers outside the city limits. President of the Lanka Private Bus Owners' Association Gemunu Wijeratne stated that buses will not be operated due to the curfew.

Disinfecting public places in Colombo
Meanwhile, a program to disinfect public places under curfew in Colombo was launched today. Accordingly, the programme commenced at the Pettah Manning market complex, Central and Bastian Mawatha bus stands and other locations.

Medicines to be sent by post to Kalutara and Kurunegala districts from tomorrow
Meanwhile, the second phase of the program of delivering monthly medicines by post to patients receiving treatment at government hospital clinics, has commenced. Accordingly, in addition to the Colombo and Gampaha districts, steps will be taken to provide medicines to patients receiving treatment at hospitals in the Kalutara and Kurunegala districts from tomorrow, said the Director General of Health Services.
