A committee of inquiry has found that political cronies have disregarded repaying the loans they had obtained from state banks during the good governance regime.

The committee, appointed by the prime minister, says these persons had obtained the loans devoid the due procedure.

It is also investigating complaints that assets of certain state banks had been sold in an authoritarian manner.

The four-member committee that probes four state banks has so far received more than 200 complaints.
