Following the finding of 457 new cases yesterday (27), Sri Lanka’s Covid-19 caseload now stands at 8,870.
Of the latest patients, 447 are contacts of the fish market at Peliyagoda and the Brandix factory at Minuwangoda.
These two clusters alone account for 5,396 infected persons.
Ten others were found from quarantine centres.
The death toll has risen by three to 19, while 4,808 patients remain in hospital.
