The Kuragala Rajamaha Viharaya is a precious Buddhist archaeological site with archaeological inscriptions, ruins and 14 caves.

The four Buddhist monks that live in the caves in the vicinity are doing their utmost to protect this sacred place.

However, the caves have become unsuitable for living as it gets wet during the rainy days and the temporary wooden roof in front of the cave is now dilapidated

While the monks have covered the front of the cave with plastic material protecting themselves from the dew, they have to spend the nights on the mats that are laid on the ground.
