Many politicians of the Opposition expressed their views on US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's visit to Sri Lanka.
MP Manush Nanayakkara stated that US State Secretary Pompeo did not visit Sri Lanka for the sake of it, while State Minister Piyal Nishantha commented that the present Government does not act in secret.
Education Secretary of the Frontline Socialist Party Pubudu Jayagoda stated that though the agreement will not be signed in front camera, it will be signed.
State Minister Prof. Nalaka Godahewa remarked that unlike diplomats that visited during the previous regime's period, US State Secretary Pompeo did not issue orders to the present Government as "they have a backbone."
Bandulal Bandarigoda of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya stated that the present government should not deceive the people with lies.
