New hospital in Kilinochchi open for COVID patients

The Infectious Diseases Hospital built in the Krishnapuram, Kilinochchi to treat patients infected with COVID-19 was declared open yesterday (11).

Northern Province Health Department Director A. Kedeshwaran, Kilinochchi Regional Medical Superintendent N. Saravanabavan, Kilinochchi District Secretary Rupavathi Kedishwaran and members of the Kilinochchi Security Forces attended the event.

This hospital was built under the supervision of the Northern Provincial Health Department with the labour contribution of the Sri Lanka Army officers.

The hospital is equipped with all the equipment required for a hospital, including an emergency treatment center, patient treatment ward complexes, a library and a playground.

The Kilinochchi Infectious Diseases Hospital is set to be used as a treatment center for COVID-19 patients and as a treatment center for COVID-19 patients in the Northern Province.
