Importers request the government to reconsider ban on vehicle imports

The Sri Lanka Automobile Importers' Association requests the government to reconsider the ban on motor vehicle imports.

A statement issued by the association states that the ban on vehicle imports would have a severe impact on the Sri Lankan economy as well as vehicle importers and the related industries.

It also points out that if the ban continues, their businesses would shut down and cause severe financial hardship to the more than 100,000 people who make a living directly and indirectly from the vehicle industry.
