Agriculture Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage stated that from the next season 1,000 kilograms of paddy will be purchased for each hectare from every farmer who receives the fertilizer subsidy.

Addressing a meeting of the Ministry Advisory Committee on Agriculture held in Parliament, the Minister said that paddy would be purchased at a guaranteed price of Rs. 50.
