It has been reported that several houses have been slightly damaged due to trees falling as a result of a strong wind that blew across several areas in the Polonnaruwa District last night.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department warns the Fisheries and Naval Command to be vigilant regarding the weather in the sea areas around the island as low pressure will develop in the Bay of Bengal during the next 24 hours.

The Director General of the Department Athula Karunanayake stated that showers are expected in many parts of the island on the 1st and 2nd of next month due to this disturbance.
