A new telephone number has been introduced to reserve appointments at the Narahenpita and Werahera offices of the Department of Motor Traffic.

The Department of Motor Traffic stated that a new date and time should be booked to obtain services from these offices in view of the current situation and that this new telephone number will be introduced to minimize the inconvenience to customers.

Accordingly, a 24-hour service reservation facility will be available from today (30) on 0112 677 877.

Meanwhile, the Government Information Bureau, which was temporarily closed due to the coronavirus situation, will re-open to the public from tomorrow (30) in accordance with the prescribed health guidelines, the Government Information Department stated.

Due to high risk of the country owing to Covid-19 pandemic, the services provided by Narahenpita and Werahera Offices of the Department of Motor Traffic have been temporarily suspended. However, it is hereby notified that the services will be recommenced since 17th of May, 2021, strictly following health guidelines.

To obtain the services an appointment must be made through Telephone Number 0112677877.

As travel restrictions have been imposed by now in the country, the services provided by Narahenpita and Werahera Offices will be limited to Western Province.

The services will be provided as usual when the travel bans are lifted.

Functions in the district offices of the Department of Motor Traffic will be carried out under the guidance of the District Secretaries concerned in the districts.
