The order was issued following the submissions made to the Panadura Magistrate's Court by the Bandaragama Police.
The suspect had spat on a Public Health Inspector on 02 December who had arrived who transfer a COVID-19 patient to a treatment centre.
Meanwhile, Police Media Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana stated that 27 persons were arrested yesterday (02) for not wearing face masks and for not maintaining social distance.
Accordingly, 1,014 persons have been arrested since October 30.
