MOU signed to manufacture critical drug for cancer patients locally (Video)

Specialist Dr. Jayantha Balawardena says that by next year, PET scans will be possible for cancer patients using radioactive drugs manufactured locally.

He was speaking at the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the relevant pharmaceutical manufacturing process.

The current method used to detect cancer at an early stage is the PET scan.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today with the Atomic Energy Board and the Kotelawala Defense University for a project to manufacture the radioactive drug locally.
