Tuition classes permitted to operate from 25 Jan with conditions

Director General of Health grants approval to resume A/L & O/L tuition classes from January 25, except in Western Province. Tuition classes in WP will commence two weeks after the commencement of Schools.

Director General of Health Services Dr. Asela Gunawardena states that permission has been granted to conduct tuition classes from January 25.

The Director General of Health Services states that tuition classes are only permitted for GCE O/L and A/L classes.

However, he stated that the commencement of tuition classes in the Western Province will be further delayed. It will start two weeks after the school reopen.

Dr. Asela Gunawardena stated that the circular required to conduct tuition classes was also issued yesterday.

According to the circular, tuition classes outside the Western Province will be allowed to operate from January 25, to a maximum of only 50 per cent of the seating capacity can be accommodated in one class.
