Investigation against Dhammika Bandara

Wednesday, 20 January 2021 - 10:52

An investigation was commenced under the Kegalle Senior Superintendent of Police against Dhammika Bandara known for manufacturing the 'syrup' against the coronavirus.

The investigation was commenced following the complaint lodged with the Peradeniya Police over an alleged dispute between the 'syrup' manufacturer Dhammika Bandara and another group of people who had arrived to receive the 'syrup'.

The complaint was allegedly lodged by a western doctor who had arrived to receive the 'syrup', according to the Warakapola Police.

Reportedly, there is a high possibility that Dhammika Bandara would be arrested following the investigation by the Kegalle SSP.

However, even today (20) a large crowd was observed to be gathered near Bandara's house to receive the 'syrup' which allegedly suppresses the COVID-19 infection.
