Homagama Public Health Inspector Priyantha Wijesuriya said that they had held three ceremonies for one wedding. He further stated that the three festivals were held in Kaduwela, Padukka and Watareka areas.
It is reported that they had obtained permission for festivals in Kaduwela and Padukka while they had not obtained permission for festivals in Watareka.
The couple then went to a hotel in Nuwara Eliya to spend their honeymoon, where they underwent a PCR test due to illness.
Homagama Public Health Inspector Priyantha Wijesuriya further stated that more than 100 families who had participated in their three ceremonies were quarantined.
Meanwhile, the other couple, who were infected with COVID, had their wedding ceremony at a party hall in Homagama.
Public Health Inspector Priyantha Wijesuriya further stated that the ceremonies should be conducted following the proper health instructions at the time the festivals are allowed.
