A female police constable attached to the Hambegamuwa Police Station had committed suicide.

Reportedly, she had committed suicide by hanging herself at her home in Milewela, Hambegamuwa last night (25).

The 41-year-old is reported to be a mother of two.

The Hambegamuwa Police stated that she had committed suicide as she was upset that her husband had not taken care of her eldest child who was ill.

The Hambegamuwa Police have commenced an investigation into the incident and the postmortem will be conducted today (26).
