WI vs. SL 1st T20: Sri Lanka 131/9 (20) in Antigua

Thursday, 04 March 2021 - 5:59

Sri Lanka limped along to score 131 for the loss of 9 wickets with Pathum Nissanka 39(34) and Niroshan Dickwella 33(29).

Outstanding bowling from West Indies on a slow Coolidge surface meant that they never really allowed Sri Lanka's innings to get going, bowling frequent slower balls, and rarely strayed in line or length.

Jason Holder's spell, which brought him 1 for 19 off four overs, put the brakes and took Sri Lanka from a path towards a decent score, to their eventual journey to a modest one.

Sri Lanka's batsmen repeatedly got out to the slower balls, and no one could find the power to really challenge West Indies' bowlers. Join us again in a few for the chase
