Police have launched a special operation on both sides of the Kelani River to find the head of the murdered girl found in a suitcase in the Colombo Dam Street area.
Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated that the search was conducted by the Police Naval Division on the banks of the Kelani River from Modara to Hanwella.
Meanwhile, the police have identified the bus on which the Sub Inspector who killed the girl was traveling from Colombo to Buttala.
Accordingly, the driver and his assistant have been instructed to come to the Dam Street Police Station and give a statement.
The post-mortem examination of the sub-inspector who committed suicide will be held tomorrow and the post-mortem examination of the girl has been postponed due to the fact that her head has not been found.
