The Italian government yesterday suspended the export of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine to Australia, manufactured at the AstraZeneca plant in Italy.
Accordingly, the export of 250,000 doses of vaccines to Australia will be halted.
Italy has stopped exporting the vaccine, claiming that AstraZeneca had violated EU regulations.
In the first three months of this year, companies have so far supplied only 40 percent of the COVID vaccine they require to supply to EU countries.
Until then, the EU has decided to suspend exports of the vaccine to other countries.
