One injured in Thandikulam railway crossing accident

Vavuniya Police stated that a 40-year-old man was injured when a motorcycle collided with a train at the Thandikulam railway crossing in Vavuniya this morning (22)

Police stated that a motorbike was crossing the railway crossing while traveling on an express train from Jaffna to Colombo.

The accident had taken place due to the malfunctioning railway gate at the railway crossing.

The residents of the area stated that no serious damage was caused due to the slow speed of the train.

Vavuniya Police are conducting further investigations.
