Buddhi Weerasinghe elected as a County Councilor in UK

Buddhi Weerasinghe has been elected as a County Councillor for Lower Sunbury and Halliford on Surrey County Council.

Before moving to Halliford last year, Buddhi was a community activist and a prominent local campaigner in Twickenham. He had initiated a project to establish a trade association to help local business community & residents in Heathfield-Twickenham. Buddhi is a big supporter of local businesses according to his party. 

He was a governor of a local school and has also worked as volunteer teacher at LBV Sunday School of Chiswick. Buddhi was also a trustee of several charities including Whitton Community Association.

Recently he had initiated ‘Halliford Village’ Facebook Page as a platform to communicate local issues. He knows how to do a lot more for Halliford.

Buddhi works for International Trading firm as Business Development Director . He is married with three young children.

Posting a note of his FB page Buddhi said;

It’s a great privilege to be elected as the County Councillor for Lower Sunbury and Halliford on Surrey County Council . I promise my fellow residents that I will deliver on promises I made and I will not let you down. Thanks to all residents who voted for me and my friends and colleagues who worked really hard on my campaign.
