34 more Covid-19 related deaths have been reported today, increasing the total in Sri Lanka to 1015.

This includes a 20 year old and several in their 30's as well. 

The Director General of Health Services today (18) confirmed 34 deaths that occurred between the 11 th to 18 th May due to Covid 19 virus infection. Accordingly, the total number of deaths due to Covid-19 infection in Sri Lanka is 1015.

01. The deceased is a 76 year old female resident in Ruwanwella. She was transferred from Base Hospital Karawanella to the Base Hospital Theldeniya where she died on 16.05.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Severe COVID Pneumonia, Diabetes and Hypertension.

02. The deceased is an 80 year-old female resident in Mattakkuliya. She died on 16.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in a private hospital in Colombo. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia.

03. The deceased is a 60 year old male resident in Nawalapitiya. He died on 15.05.2021 on admission to District General Hospital Nawalapitiya. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID pneumonia.

04. The deceased is a 64 year old female resident in Puttalam. She was transferred from Base Hospital Puttalam to the Teaching Hospital Anuradhapura where she died on 18.05.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID Pneumonia and Renal failure.

05. The deceased is a 67 year old male resident in Kahatagasdigiliya. He died on 17.05.2021 on admission to Teaching Hospital Anuradhapura. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID pneumonia.

06. The deceased is a 72 year-old male resident in Alawathugoda. He died on 16.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in District General Hospital Mathale. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia and stroke.

07. The deceased is an 80 year-old male resident in Pasyala. He died on 18.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in a private hospital in Colombo. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia.

08. The deceased is a 56 year-old female resident in Mulatiyana. She died on 16.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in Teaching Hospital Karapitiya. The cause of death is mentioned as Pulmonary thrombo embolism and COVID 19 Pneumonia while being a cancer patient.

09. The deceased is an 80 year-old male resident in Pamunuwatta. He died on 17.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in Base Hospital Meerigama. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia.

10. The deceased is a 55 year old male resident in Madapatha. He was transferred from Arachchikanda Hospital, Hikkaduwa to the Teaching Hospital Karapitiya where he died on 16.05.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID Pneumonia.

11. The deceased is a 78 year old male resident in Angulaugaha. He died on 15.05.2021 in his residence and the cause of death is mentioned as COVID Pneumonia 12. 18. The deceased is an 65 year-old female resident in Athurugiriya. She was transferred from Nawagamuwa Hospital to the Teaching Hospital Karapitiya where she died on 17.05.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID Pneumonia.

19. The deceased is a 71 year-old male resident in Kirindiwela. He died on 16.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in Base Hospital Wathupitiwala. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia and Septicemia.

20. The deceased is a 32 year-old female resident in Dematagoda. She died on 17.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in National Hospital Colombo. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia, Diabetes, Chronic Kidney Disease, Thrombo-embolic disease and Hypothyroidism.

21. The deceased is a 70 year-old male resident in Wellampitiya. He died on 16.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in IDH Hospital. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia, Diabetes and Hypertension.

22. The deceased is a 55 year old male resident in Colombo 02. He died on 18.05.2021 on admission to National Hospital Colombo. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID pneumonia, Diabetes Mellitus and Pulmonary TB.

23. The deceased is a 60 year-old female resident in Nugegoda. She died on 17.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in National Hospital Colombo. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia, Diabetes, and Hyperlipidaemia.

33. The deceased is a 58 year-old male resident in Watinapaha. He was transferred from Divulapitiya Hospital to the Base Hospital Minuwangoda where he died on 17.05.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia.

34. The deceased is an 83 year old female resident in Mailapitiya. She died on 11.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in a private hospital in Colombo. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia.
