Significant increase of child labor recorded worldwide

The United Nations stated that the number of child labourers worldwide has increased significantly to 160 million after two decades.

Its agencies, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the World Labour Organization, pointed out that 8.4 million children have joined the global workforce in the past four years alone.

According to a report, another 9 million children will be joining the labour force by the end of next year as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
