Due to active south-west monsoon conditions over Sri Lanka, heavy showers above 100 mm can be expected at some places in Sabaragamuwa province and in Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.

Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm can be expected at some places in Western province.

The wind speed can increase up to (60-70) kmph in the deep and shallow sea areas extending from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota and from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Mannar and Kankasanturai during this period from 02.30 p.m. 22 July 2021 until 02.30 p.m. 23 July 2021.

The wind speed can be increased up to (50-60) kmph at times in the other sea areas around the island.

The sea areas extending from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota and from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Mannar and Kankasanturai can be very rough at times. The other sea areas around the island can be rough at times.

Naval and fishing communities are requested to be vigilant in this regards.
