The incident had taken place about two years ago when the relevant DIG was serving as the Senior Superintendent of Police.
The senior police officer who was on leave with his family members at a police bungalow in Nuwara Eliya had informed the police constable in charge of the bungalow that he wanted to eat wild boar meat.
Accordingly, the constable had obtained money from the relevant senior police officer, bought pork and prepared the relevant curry.
However, the police officer had assaulted the constable, arguing that the meat portion in the curry was less.
Later, the assaulted police constable was admitted to the Nuwara Eliya Hospital and received treatment.
It was also reported that he had lodged a complaint with the Nuwara Eliya Police.
