When Hiru News team inquired about this from a high-ranking official of Sri Lanka Cricket, he stated that such a request had been received from the PCB.
However, he stated that the Sri Lanka Cricket Board has informed the PCB that they will be touring Pakistan after the World Cup as they have already planned their upcoming matches targeting the T20 World Cup.
The England cricket team, which had planned to tour Pakistan after the New Zealand team abandoned the tour due to security reasons and returned to their home country, also canceled their tour.
A senior Sri Lanka Cricket official who spoke to Hiru News team and stated that Sri Lanka Cricket is always ready to cooperate with the Pakistan Cricket Board.
He stated that he would never forget the support given by the Pakistani cricket team during their visits to Sri Lanka during the period when other cricket teams from around the world were prevented from visiting Sri Lanka due to the civil war situation.
Meanwhile, the 23-member cricket squad for the upcoming World Cup T20 Cricket Tournament has been included in a bio bubble today.
These players will be training for the upcoming World Cup.
Ahead of the World Cup, Sri Lanka will play a T20 match against Oman, coached by former Sri Lankan cricket captain Duleep Mendis.
