The Sri Lankan rupee has depreciated by 6.8 percent against the US dollar as of October 18.

The Central Bank said the Sri Lankan rupee had depreciated against the euro, the pound sterling, the Australian dollar and the Indian rupee.

The Central Bank also said that Sri Lanka's gross official reserves had risen to US $ 3.5 billion by the end of August.

It does not include the US $ 1.5 billion money transfer facility signed with China.
