Eravur Police traffic division officer released on bail

The Eravur Police traffic division officer involved in the inhuman assault on two youths in Batticaloa has been released on bail.

The suspect was arrested this morning (23) and later produced before the Batticaloa Magistrate's Court.

Also, the Minister Minister Sarath Weerasekara stated that steps have been taken to interdict the police officer.

A video of the police traffic officer brutally assaulting two youths is circulating on social media.

The police officer who was attached to the Traffic Division of the Eravur Police was arrested in connection with the incident after an investigation.
