The number of COVID infections in the country is likely to increase again in December, said the Vice President of the Public Health Inspectors Association, S.A.U.T. Kulathilake.

Dr. Deepal Perera, a pediatrician at the Lady Ridgeway Children's Hospital in Colombo also extended a request to the parents not to take children on various excursions and trips at a time where the possibility of being infected with COVID-19 is still high.

Meanwhile, the National Dental Teaching Hospital has instructed the public to bring the vaccination card confirming that they have received the COVID immunization when they come for treatment.

With the identification of 559 more corona infections in the country yesterday, the total number of infected people in the country has increased to 538,320.

Accordingly, the number of active infections in the country is 20,270.

The total number of deaths in the country has risen to 13,674 with the 20 deaths confirmed by the Director-General of Health Services yesterday.
