The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has stated that the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has launched an investigation into the island-wide power outage.

Meanwhile, the CEB has stated that it will take at least 2 days for the work of the Norochcholai Power Plant to return to normal.

Until then, the council stated that there could be intermittent power outages in the country.
