Major General Vikum Liyanage has been appointed as the new Commander of the Army.

The President handed over the letter of appointment to the new Army Commander today (31) at the President's House in Fort.

Accordingly, he is the most senior officer in the Sri Lanka Army and will be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General after assuming duties from tomorrow (01).
