Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Sabry has left the island on an official visit to the United States.

The Sri Lankan delegation led by the Foreign Minister left the Katunayake International Airport this morning.

Three senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are also participating in this visit.

During this visit, the Sri Lankan delegationis also scheduled to meet and discuss with USAid Administrator Samantha Power

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement said Minister Ali Sabry is visiting the US on an invitation extended by the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

The Minister will remain in the US until the 4th of December.

During his visit, Foreign Minister Sabry is scheduled to meet Secretary of State Blinken, members of the Congress and other senior interlocutors of the US Government.

Meanwhile, the United States Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Julie Chung said the visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Sabry represents an important opportunity to advance Sri Lanka-US partnerships, including on topics such as human rights, economic governance, and future US assistance.
