A 38-year-old woman has died after being attacked with an iron rod in the Mahayayawatte area in Koswatte last night (23).

The Police stated that the woman is a resident of the Pothuwatawana area in Kahatawila.

The Police stated that preliminary investigations have revealed that the woman’s husband had attacked her with an iron rod over a personal dispute.

The woman was found dead inside her house by the Koswatte Police. The Magisterial inquiry into the death will be conducted today (24).

The Police stated that the 47-year-old suspect had fled the area and the Koswatte Police has launched investigations to apprehend him.
