State Minister for Urban Development and Housing Arundika Fernando says that he did not exert any influence on the entry of a Chinese national who arrived at Katunayake Airport using a fake passport.
Speaking to our news team, he said that he only sent a letter to the Immigration Controller General Harsha Ilukpitiya.
On the 18th at 9:50 p.m, this Chinese national had arrived along with two Egyptians at the Katunayake airport from Dubai.
Immigration officials took steps to detain him after it was discovered that he had submitted a Papua New Guinea passport to enter the country and that it had been forged.
It was reported that the two others who came with the Chinese at that time also behaved violently and tried to bribe the immigration officials.
