Health Minister Calls for Reduction in Drug Prices amid Falling Dollar Value

Health+Minister+Calls+for+Reduction+in+Drug+Prices+amid+Falling+Dollar+Value

Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella has given instructions to the officials to take steps to reduce the price of medicines in comparison to the appreciation of the rupee against the dollar.

In a discussion held at the Ministry of Health, he has stated that although the value of the dollar has reduced, prices of medicines have not reduced.

Meanwhile, a special discussion was held at the Ministry of Finance under the chairmanship of State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya to look into the possibility of reducing the prices of building materials including cement, iron and aluminium.
