In a tragic incident, a Buddhist monk, residing in the Pothgul Vihara of Andawala, Lihinipitiya, was found dead in his residence on September 30, 2023.

The monk, aged 63, had been a resident of the Pothgul Vihara in Lihinipitiya. Preliminary investigations by the police have revealed that the deceased monk used to visit a particular residence intermittently, where he was tragically killed. The exact motive behind this fatal incident remains undisclosed.

Local law enforcement, led by the Potuhera Police, has initiated an  investigation into the incident. Their primary objective is to apprehend the individuals responsible for the monk's untimely death.
