Welimada, November 20, 2023 - The former chairman of the Welimada local council, A.R.A.Bandusena, who evaded court proceedings related to charges of obstructing the duty of two officers from the Welimada police traffic department in Cappetipola town, has voluntarily surrendered to the Welimada magistrate court through legal representation.

Appearing in court today (20), the judge presiding over the case ordered the remand of the suspect until December 4. The former Welimada local council chairman, will remain in custody until the next scheduled court appearance.

The charges stem from an incident involving the obstruction of law enforcement officers' duties, and the court will now proceed with the legal proceedings against the former local council chairman.
