Excise department meets 98% of the revenue target

The Sri Lankan Excise Department has successfully attained 98% of the targeted revenue allocated by the Government for the current fiscal year. Consequently, the department reports a total income of 17,700 million rupees from liquor taxes for the year.

In response to this achievement, the Excise Department has outlined its proactive approach in taking various steps to further enhance revenue generation. Plans are already underway to set and achieve diverse revenue targets in the year 2024.
