Young man hit by MP's Jeep dies after 8 days in ICU

Colombo, June 12, 2024 - The 22-year-old man struck by a jeep belonging to Member of Parliament Nalin Bandara near Kongasdeniya Junction on June 3rd has succumbed to his injuries.

The young man, a resident of Tihariya - Kalgedihena, passed away after fighting for his life in the intensive care unit for eight days.

In a final act of generosity, the young man had expressed his wish to donate his organs. His kidneys and liver have since been donated to three recipients, potentially saving their lives.

This selfless act has brought some solace to his grieving family and highlights the profound impact of organ donation.
