Body of drowned student recovered from Atthanagalla Oya

The body of a fifteen-year-old student who drowned while swimming in the Atthanagalla Oya in the Kotuguda-Bolanda area has been found by the police and local residents.

The deceased student was a resident of the Jaela area and a pupil at a school in Katana. The tragic incident occurred yesterday when the student went swimming with two classmates.

The police have taken statements from the other two students present at the time of the accident. The investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the drowning.
