The Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Response Forum (SLCERT) announced plans to introduce a new website for the Government Printing Department following a recent cyber attack on its existing platform. According to Senior Information Security Engineer Charuka Damunupola, work on the new website is currently in progress.

While the existing website has been restored, Damunupola noted that no specific information has yet been uncovered about the perpetrators behind the attack. In response to the increasing threat of cyber attacks, SLCERT has also developed a methodology aimed at preventing similar incidents on government websites.

Additionally, on the night of December 30, a cyber attack targeted the Police Department's YouTube channel. The police have since launched an investigation into this incident.
