Cricket is officially slated to make its comeback to the Olympic Games after a hiatus of 128 years, and the location for the matches has now been announced.
Organisers for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics confirmed yesterday that a temporary, purpose-built facility at the Fairgrounds in Pomona will host the cricket fixtures.
The Fairgrounds, also known as Fairplex, is a substantial event complex that has been the home of the Los Angeles County Fair since 1922 and operates as a year-round venue for diverse events.
The fast-paced T20 format of cricket will feature six teams each in the men's and women's tournaments at the LA Games.
