Presidents of various National Sports Associations in Sri Lanka have collectively appealed to the Minister of Sports for the immediate removal of the Chairman and current office bearers of the National Olympic Committee.

They are advocating for the appointment of a new board in strict adherence to the organisation's constitution.

This significant request was made following a special meeting convened yesterday to deliberate on the future trajectory of the National Olympic Committee.

The discussions at the general meeting, held at the Olympic House, centred on the necessary steps to address the suspension of funds imposed on the Committee by the International Olympic Committee, a matter of considerable concern for the nation's sporting bodies.
